Philip L. Holstein – 2014 Annual Campaign Chair
Philip L. Holstein is the Chair of the Jewish Federation of Central New York’s Campaign 2014. He was the recipient of the prestigious 2013 Esther and Joseph Roth Award in recognition of Jewish Community Service.
Phil is a Past-President of the Syracuse Jewish Federation. He has been an active member of the Jewish community here in Syracuse and in Baltimore, Maryland. Phil has served as a member of the Syracuse Jewish Federation’s Executive Committee since 1997 and was, for several years, the Vice President for Community Relations. He served as a member of the board of the Jewish Community Foundation of CNY. In the late 1990’s, he also served as a Board Member of Temple Adath Yeshurun.
Phil was the 2nd Vice President of the Baltimore Jewish Council, the President of the American Jewish Committee – Baltimore Chapter, was active on a number of committees of the Associated Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore and was a Board Member of the Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital. While living in Baltimore, he founded a Leadership Development Program for Jewish Communal Leaders.
Phil received a BA degree from Hampshire College and two graduate degrees from Syracuse University – a JD from the College of Law and an MPA from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. He is a Certified Financial Planner® and has his FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63.
Phil is a financial services executive who has worked for insurance and mutual fund companies in the United States and in the United Kingdom and is currently the President of Unity Retirement, LLC, a specialty financial services company.
