Are You New to the Syracuse Area?
The Jewish Federation of Central New York would like to give a special welcome to new Jewish residents of Syracuse and the surrounding area. Through our Shalom Syracuse program, our Community Concierge Jacki Goldberg will personally deliver a welcome information and gift basket to new Jewish members of our community.
The Federation offers this service to anyone who has recently moved to the Syracuse area, or who plans to move into the area. To schedule a visit email Jacki at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Federation office at 445-2040 ext. 102.
Each welcome basket is filled with information and brochures from Jewish organizations and synagogues, as well as information about local arts, leisure and entertainment venues in the general community. The Federation provides a fresh baked challah, kosher wine, a tzedakah box, mezuzah for the new home, and most importantly, a warm personal welcome from Jacki. She will answer questions about the Jewish community at the initial drop off, as well as follow up any questions and concerns.
Jacki has been an active member and volunteer in the Syracuse Jewish community for almost 25 years. She has served on the Boards of Menorah Park, the Jewish Community Center, Syracuse Hebrew Day School and Temple Adath Yeshurun.
Jacki has volunteered for the Fayetteville-Manlius school district, where she raised two daughters, and lives with her husband, Michael. An avid Syracuse sports fan, she is also involved in the Make-A-Wish Ms. Orange Fundraiser and Syracuse Stage Guild. With her daughter she chaired the Jewish Federation Super Sunday annual phone-a-thon and Teen Mitzvah Project.
We are happy to offer the information, welcome basket and a visit from our Community Concierge to new Jewish residents of our community.
