Movie at the JCC: For Your Consideration
As Purim approaches, be sure to join the JCC for a screening of For Your Consideration! After Best in Show but before Schitt’s Creek, Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara starred in the comedy, For Your Consideration. In this star-studded cast, which includes Parker Posey, Ed Begley Jr., John Michael Higgins and Jennifer Coolidge (just to name a few), three actors learn that their respective performances in the film Home for Purim, a drama set in the mid-1940s American South, are generating award-season buzz. (Rated PG-13, 1 hr and 26 min)
Flavors of Judaism: India
Temple Concord, Flavors of Judaism We're excited to introduce Flavors of Judaism, a new series where we explore Jewish communities around the world through food, culture, and conversation. Our first gathering takes us to India on Sunday, February 8 at 6:00 PM. Over a shared meal, we'll discover the Jews of India including the Cochin community—one of the oldest in the world—and explore how they lived, practiced Judaism, and shaped their identity within Indian society. This is a relaxed, social evening with guided learning, delicious food, and great conversation. There is no cost to attend; participants are responsible for their own meals. Dinner locations will be sent upon registration. Upcoming in the series: March 29: Jews of Italy April 19: Jews of Mexico Join us for one dinner or embark on a culinary journey around the Jewish world. We hope to see you there!
