There will be games, upbeat prayers, an explanation about the Parsha (Torah portion) for the week, and kids helping to lead certain prayers along with the Teens. We will head back to the main service to help lead Ein Keloheinu and other concluding prayers then enjoy an elevated kiddush together afterward. You may attend one or all! Grab your needles or hook and come to the JCC for a day of knitting and crocheting scarves for the local unhoused population. Can’t join us for the whole event? Don’t worry! Feel free to drop in with an already started project or bring a scarf back once completed. This community event is hosted in collaboration with Temple Adath. The JCC will start taking donations December 14. Both the JCC and Temple Adath will be taking yarn donations for this event. |

"Please join CBS-CS and the Interfaith Community Collective on January 19th at 11 am for Mitzvah Day. Together we'll learn about the ICC's mission and participate in the work they do to provide access to life-supporting resources for our Central New York neighbors. There will be carpool arrangements provided if needed. If you are unable to attend, please consider donating items that we can bring the day of such as personal hygiene products, men's clothing, winter gear, new undergarments, and thermal gloves." |

Join CBS-CS for a special Lunch & Learn with Dr. Nir Becker on Jewish Perspectives on the Environment/Environmental Stewardship. Dr. Becker explores how Jewish wisdom addresses today's environmental challenges. Drawing on Torah and the Talmud, as well as his work on water resources, climate change economics, and nature conservation in Israel, Dr. Becker examines how ancient principles offer powerful guidance for sustainability. This interactive session includes discussion and Q&A. All are welcome to this thought-provoking conversation about our sacred obligation to protect creation Dr. Becker is an environmental and natural-resource economist specializing in water economics, environmental valuation, and cost–benefit analysis of public policies. He is currently on sabbatical at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF). He is a faculty member at Tel-Hai College in the Galilee, Israel. |
